Dear students,
Please refer to the guidelines below before you start your log book.
Guidelines to Print Fiction Log Book
How to do it?
When you have found a part of the book that you could write about,
1. Stop.
2. Write down the entry number, page number and date.
3. Explain briefly what has just happened in the book.
4. Write down your reactions, using some of the suggestions below.
5. The first entry should include background information like setting, main characters, etc..
6. The last entry should be a brief review of the whole book.
How often and how much to write?
1. Make at least 5 entries (I prefer you to write 8-10) for each book.
2. Each entry should be at least half a page long (better more than that) with the last entry about a page long.
3. Write on every line.
4. Follow the format given in the example.
What can I write?
Try some of these:
1. Do you like/ dislike any of the characters you are reading about? Why?
2. Speculate what you think may happen based on what you’ve read so far.
3. Have you ever experienced something similar to what happens in the story? If so, explain.
4. Do you know anyone who is/are like the character(s) in the story? Who? In what way?
5. Copy out a phrase, a sentence or a short paragraph that you find important. Explain why.
6. Name the part(s) of the book that you particularly like/dislike. Explain why.
7. Do you like the ending? Why or why not?
8. Have you changed your opinion about certain things/ values after reading the book?
